It was my first day of work on the floor. I was scared and excited. I did not know what the day will bring, but I was waiting for it since nursing school. I was very grateful that I will be working with the preceptor to understand the work on my floor better. One serious thought was persisting in my mind: will I be safe. I was starting a position in the middle of the global pandemic of Covid-19. I still needed more training on being a nurse, and I had to go face to face with the pandemic. I was worried about my family and their safety. At work, I shared my worries with my co-workers. They listened to me and provided support. They shared with me that they have the same fears. I am lucky to be working in such an amazing place with such a supportive team.
