I celebrated my first year anniversary of working as a nurse this past July, and what a special year it was! Being a new nurse has been an incredible challenging and rewarding experience. This past year, I learnt so much about myself as well as about the world around me. The most important lesson I have learnt this past year is the importance of working as a team, and how strong and resilient nurses can be. Being a new nurse on my unit, I look to my nursing colleagues for their knowledge and wisdom about the profession. It really amazed me that no matter how difficult the situation would get at the hospital, my coworkers were able to hold their composure and be supportive and kind to their patients and fellow nurses. Working in such a challenging time with such a resilient and supportive staff really motivates me to push myself to be the same way.
