During the first round of the pandemic, there was a lot of uncertainty. The unit that I work on went from being a surgical unit on a Friday to a hot zone for Covid on the Monday. At first N95 mask were required, then during a shift, after lunch, they were advised to remove them as they were no longer needed. Some of my co-workers got sick with Covid with two ending up in ICU. It is scary to witness your co-workers getting sick.

Now, in the second round of Covid, there still remains a lot of uncertainty and a lot of fear. The only thing getting me by is the strength and perseverance of my co-workers. I know with their support, I can handle Covid!

We are NURSES, we are STRONG! We have something inside us that others don’t. We do a job that others can’t. We can do this and we WILL do this!

Together we stand!
